Events from January to April

January

Revelta i Beneides de Sant Antoni Abat. This is a fiesta in Mallorca that includes: bonfires, parades, dancing, and people dress up in fancy bright costumes . Party goes on for two days.

Festa de Sant Sebastia . Celebrated every January 20th, in Pollenca, Mallorca, a procession with two dancers (cavallets) escalating wooden horses

Carnival Parades. Done February and March, possibly the last jovial events celebrated before the Lent Season. Palma hosts the most extravagant fiesta, known as the Cavalcade (Sa Rua)! Carnival time happens throughout Mainland Spain and the islands. These are parades worth seeing.

Semana Santa (Holy Week). Held on Maundy Thursday in Palma, Mallorca, a procession leaves the church of La Sang, carrying a crucifix. On Good Friday, many other processions are held in towns, including Palma and Sinue in Mallorca.

Fiesta Sant Francesc . April 2nd, a popular feast of St. Francis is celebrated in all of the Balearic islands.

Festa Sant Jordi . April 23rd, this feast day of the patron saint of many towns and villages is celebrated on all the Balearic islands.

Princess Sofia Trophy. A yachting regatta is one of the most important in the Balearic islands.
