Can Pastilla is the first resort you ll arrive at if you wander along the south coast, eastwards from the capital of Palma . The short distance of this town s location from Palma and the Son Sant Joan International Airport probably explains why this is the first resort to be known by the Brits during the inception of tourism in the early 1960's. It usually takes only 15 to 20 minutes transfer time from the Airport to your accommodation. The only downside to bear in this town is the evident yet tolerable aircraft noise especially during the peak season holidays, as it is only a few kilometers away from the SSJ International Airport. Thanks to the efforts of the airport authorities, they have come up with an alternative way to make landings a lot quieter than the take offs -- the airplanes approach from over the sea.
The town is made up of narrow main avenues and even narrower side streets. At the end of these streets you will see the scenic harbor and the Club Maritimo San Antonio de la Playa Marina (a favorite docking area of yachts and pleasure crafts).
