Much of the town’s history actually only dates back to the early 1960's. Back then, it was only hailed as a little village for fishing. The town began to become accustomed with the growing influx of tourists and it led the locals to respond to the escalating tourism progress from then on. Many of the buildings and facilities that exist today still date from that decade.
